Logitech Z-2300 THX-Certified Speakers (Photo from Amazon)

I bought this speaker about one and half weeks ago and I have to say, IT IS THE BEST...(well, from its price range)
I bought it from Amazon for 64.17+26.82 for shipping, so the total was 90.99
(I thought was pricey because of the shipping, but I think Amazon increased the price to 85.17)

First I was buying this to replace my computer speaker, the JBL encounter (see below, image from JBL website)

I replaced this speaker only because the on and off button has become dysfunction. The only way to use this is to tape the button...
I probably can repair it...but I am just simply too lazy.  I like the sound quality but it is not the best speaker for heavy base type of music (of movies).

When I first got this speaker, I hooked it up to the computer and it sounds...very very good.
Then I was watching Rambo on my computer......the sound just amazed me.
There are scenes in the movie that was raining and thunders what not, and the sound...and no kidding, it is like in a movie theater.
And the explosions....just amazing.
So I decided to switch my computer speaker with my tv speaker, which is Altec Lansing BXR1121 (see below, picture from Altec Lansing website).
[Yes, I have a speaker for the tv too.....once you plug one into the tv, you can't live without one, It makes the tv experience so much better]

The logitech speakers comes with the Audio cord extension (so you can actually plug into the audio output in the tv).
It makes the sound even better compare when plug into the headphone jack on the tv.
[But my friend said his does not make that much of a difference]

The only disadvantage I would say about this logitech speaker is, since it is design for computer speaker, there is no remote control on the volume.
Since I plug it into the audio output, the only way to adjust the volume is the controller of the speaker.
That is in the case if you are watching a DVD.
For cable television, there is another control of volume from the cable.
But it would be so much nicer if I can sit on the sofa and "remotely control" the speaker volume.

Well, another disadvantage of this speaker is, the size of the hoofer. It is GIGANTIC. And it got some weight to it too. HEAVY-duty one.

Other than these two, I would say, it is a good buy. No wonder it is the best selling speakers!!!

***After I switched the Altec Lansing speaker to my computer, the first time I used it, I hated it so much. But later I found, if you use Window media player 11, and go adjust the setting, it would sound so so so much better....although it is no comparison with my other two speakers....although it is only 30 bucks, so can't ask for much can I?
